User Experience Designer Apprentice
Full-Time / Remote
Summary
This is a 12-month, full-time, paid apprenticeship designed for early-career designers who want hands-on experience, mentorship, and a real shot at a full-time UX role. You'll be embedded in our product design team, working on live projects from day one — not shadowing, not fetching coffee. You'll pair with a dedicated mentor, join critiques, ship real features, and build a portfolio of work that actually shipped to users
Responsibilities
Working alongside experienced designers and cross-functional teams, you will:
Assist in conducting user research: interviews, surveys, contextual inquiry, and analytics review
Create and iterate wireframes, interactive prototypes, and polished UI mockups
Participate in design critiques and contribute to the company's design system
Support usability testing sessions, synthesize findings, and present actionable recommendations
Collaborate with product managers, developers, and QA engineers through the full product lifecycle
Document design decisions and maintain organized, accessible project files
Gradually take ownership of small-to-medium design features under mentor guidance
Log OJT hours and competency progress in coordination with your Atelier Sentio advisor

The ideal candidate should have:
High-school diploma or GED (or equivalent), Bachelor degree
Genuine interest in design, technology, and how people think, behave and interact with digital products
A genuine interest in UX/product design and a desire to build a career in the field
Some exposure to design tools (Figma, Sketch, or similar) — through coursework or personal projects
